Hardware

The TRACKER™ hardware is a modular family of devices providing complete flexibility in choice of sensors and connection.

Sensors

For help in choosing the most appropriate sensors for the doorway or area you wish to monitor contact us to discuss your requirements.

Single Beam, Reflective

This is the most popular type of sensor which is very reliable and can cover wide doorways/passageways. The device is mounted on one side of the door, and a reflector on the opposing wall. It is easy to line-up the reflector with the beam using the indicator light on the main unit.

Dual Beam, Reflective

Building on the reliability of the single beam device, the dual beam unit makes it possible to distinguish between people entering and leaving an area. This is particularly useful if you have several entrances, and want to analyse movements.

Proximity

Proximity sensors are ideal where there is no defined boundary or where a reflective beam is otherwise impractical. It is particularly suitable for special exhibitions or display stands, for example.

Pressure Mat

This is a simple option and ideal where you have a relatively small doorway and where the pressure mat can be placed beneath an existing doormat or carpet. Several mats can be used together to cover wider doorways if required.

The hardware uses infrared beams to monitor up to six entrances or passageways recording count, direction of travel, and timestamps. Their 10m range is sufficient to cover wide doorways.

Connection

A direct wired connection is a simple option where sensors are close to a computer, or where wiring is straight-forward. If your building has structured wiring installed (for computer networks, telephone systems, etc), then the devices can be connected using spare capacity within that.

Where direct wiring is more difficult or undesirable, for example in an historic building, then we offer wireless solutions. Our short-range modules are perfect for use within a relatively small area. For more remote applications - a gate at the end of a long path for example - we have long range devices working up to 1km.
